About Coach Ken 

Bio:

I am an Ironman U and TriDot Certified Coach. I have been very active in the triathlon since 2012. Prior to that I was an avid runner and USA Fit running coach, completing numerous marathons and half marathons. I qualified and ran in Boston in 2019. I entered my first 140.6 at Ironman Texas in 2013 and trained using a group training program. I had no idea what I was getting myself into and did not understand the importance of proper structured training and nutrition. I learned a lot from that race, as I became dehydrated on the bike course and had to be brought in at mile 70. Registered again and finished the following year. Since then, I have completed another full ironman and numerous 70.3 and shorter distance races, getting on the podium at several local short distance events.
One of my priorities as a coach is to successfully educate my clients. I want athletes that I work with to be able to navigate the complexities of triathlon and boil it down to what is important to them. I want all my clients to avoid the mindset of simply swim, bike and run. To build a proper foundation there is more to endurance training. There is functional strength, nutrition and fueling, and proper recovery. All of these play an equal and important role in an athlete's success.
